I was the UI designer Jr in charge of creating the interface for the promotional website for this campaign. I was assisted by a UI senior and a PM. I helped with research and structuring and created the wireframe and final prototype.

The Project

The beverage brand Cereser launched a unique campaign, "Largest toast of all time" aiming to break the Guinness world record for the largest online video chain of people toasting. This initiative encouraged user participation and brand engagement through a simple yet impactful call to action.


To contribute, users submitted short videos recording themselves raising a drink of their choice and saying "A toast to life!". Submissions were accepted through a dedicated website, ensuring ease of participation and data collection.


Maintaining consistency was crucial for record verification. Cereser established clear guidelines outlining video format and content requirements. Any deviation from these specifications, unfortunately, resulted in disqualification, emphasizing the importance of user adherence to ensure campaign success.

Problem & Design

As users grappled with the specific guidelines, one of the main challenges they faced was understanding how to position themselves correctly within the camera frame. To address this, I implemented a dynamic camera mask as a key solution.


Through extensive research and user testing, I refined the mask to incorporate several key elements:


  • Clear instructions: Written instructions with a white background ensured readability regardless of the filming environment.

  • Visual guidance: A darkened outer area clearly defined the usable space, eliminating user confusion.

  • Body outline: An outline helped users position themselves at the optimal distance from the camera.


The mask went through numerous revisions and tests to ensure effectiveness before launching, and user feedback was overwhelmingly positive. This solution significantly improved user understanding and video approval.

Outcome

The campaign concluded with 285 video submissions deemed valid, representing a remarkable near-90% success rate in adherence to the format guidelines. This achievement directly contributed to Cereser's successful acquisition of the new world record, celebrating the collective effort of participating users.
